Library card

The ULB library card can be used to borrow materials at the Central Library and several decentralised libraries. We offer you privileged loan conditions. You can receive your library card at the ULB’s registration desk, or you can request the card using our online registration.

Courier service

Academics, who work at institutes outside the downtown traffic circle, can use the ULB courier service. We deliver the ordered media directly to your institute. This courier service is not available to medical institutes since the Medical Library provides them with the necessary literature.

Digitisation order

If you need journal articles or book chapters from the collections of the ULB for your personal research or for teaching, we can deliver them electronically – if the copyright law allows us to do so. Only members of the academic staff of the University of Münster are admitted to this service.

Loan authorization

You can request to transfer the loan authorization for your library account to one or more other ULB users. The authorized persons can then borrow media on your library account (with their own library card) and also place interlibrary loan requests for you, but unfortunately cannot order media from the ULB holdings for you.

Interlibrary loan

You can request books and articles which are not recorded in any library in Münster via the interlibrary loan. The costs for official requests of academic staff of the University of Münster are invoiced centrally.
